Bahrain Duty Free has recently announced the names of the seven winners of the daily draw held during the second week of June, in conjunction with its summer promotion campaign” Win a Holiday Every Day “.

The lucky winners were Aouda Hicham, Moroccan nationality, Diana Bilbrough New Zealand nationality, Alexander Lumbong Filipino nationality, Ahmed Fallah Al-Raishaidi Kuwaiti nationality, Habib Abdulla Bahraini nationality, Mohamed Al Naimi Emirates Nationality, Hassan Al Mulla Bahraini nationality and Narender Kumar Indian nationality each of whom won a five day holiday package for 2 persons to Sharm El Sheikh-Egypt, on board a special aircraft of Royal Jordanian Airlines

At the same time and in the framework of encouraging its staff competencies and career development the company has 12 similar awards to be won by the staff with outstanding performers.

Bahrain Duty Free recently organized a recreational sports day for all its staff at the Hotel Elite & Spa. The Staff participated in physical various games such as football, basketball and swimming. The event also encompassed other recreational activities such as quizzes and other competitions.

Adel Redha, Head of HR & Marketing commented “. The sports day is designed to promote team spirit and harmony amongst the staff by spending time together outside the work environment. The General Manager of Bahrain Duty Free Mr. Steve O'Connor, accompanied with Human Resources Manager Mr. Adel Salem recently visited the Managing Director Mr. Abdullah Buhindi in order to congratulate him for the company’s winning the BEST NATIONALIZATION STRATEGY AWARD during the 5th Annual GCC Human Assets Expansion Middle East congress held in Dubai from 24 – 26 of May 2010.

Abdullah Bu Hindi , the  Managing Director of the company  expressed his happiness for this achievement by saying: "We are proud to have won BEST NATIONALIZATION STRATEGY AWARD at the level of the Gulf Cooperation Council, in recognition of the company’s commitment toward Bahrainisation  and in recognition of the efforts in training and development of Bahrainis,  through application of  international standards and best practices in human resources training and development.”
This award adds to the other three awards won by the company in the same area this month.

Bahrain Duty Free won three awards this week,

Wining the Bahrain Ministry of Labour Awards for

·         Best Training Program – Award collected by Adel Salem – HR Manager.

·         Best Training Institute – awarded to Bahrain International Retail Development (BIRD,) BDFS Training Company.  The Award was collected by Adel Reda, GM of BIRD and also Head of HR & Marketing for BDFS.

BDFS also won the Ministry of Commerce Award for

·         Best in E Commerce ‘Business Award’ - presented by the Deputy Prime Minister to the Chairman BDFS, Mr. Farouk Almoayyed.

In line with its policy of motivating staff and encouraging them to exert best efforts, Bahrain Duty Free carried out recently a draw on      “Employee of the Year “of 2009.

The General Manager of the company, Steve O’Connor has praised the outstanding efforts of the honored staff and urged them to move forward and improve their performance to their maximum potential and to make further efforts in order to achieve functional excellence.

Bahrain Duty Free has announced recently the names of the winners of its promotional campaign for “FIFA World Cup 2010”.

 The lucky winners were Ms. Sakina Behbood, Bahraini nationality and Mr. Firoz Ibrahim Indian nationality who won  2 tickets each  to attend the world cup in South Africa, plus  free accommodation  and  US$ 2,500  pocket money per set of tickets “

Bahrain Duty Free always keen to support sporting events in Bahrain, recently agreed to sponsor Al Hala Basketball Team.

 On this occasion, Adel Redha Head of Human Resources and Marketing, stated” We are always delighted to support local sporting events and clubs to encourage, develop and promote sporting activities in Bahrain.”
