Bahrain Duty Free wins race for charity

The Bahrain Duty Free men’s team bagged the 1st place and the ladies teams got the 2nd place in the 17thg annual marathon and walkathon held recently.

The event held annually to mark the country’s national days.

BAHRAIN DUTY FREE SHOP COMPLEX INTRODUCE A PHARMACY AT THE AIRPORT IN COOPERATION WITH NASSER PHARMACY

Along with the continuing efforts to provide more and more services to its customers, Bahrain Duty Free Shop Complex, in cooperation with Nasser Pharmacy, has recently opened a pharmacy in the departure hall at the Bahrain International Airport.

This additional outlet comes in line with the company’s new customer services expansion program which aims at developing and introducing more and more new and varied services to its customers.

 

On this occasion, Steve O’Connor, the General Manager of Bahrain Duty Free Shop complex stated “Our customer service expansion program not only concentrates on attracting and bringing in additional international brands, but also takes into consideration the diversity of the types of services that we provide to our valued customers, highlighted by the opening of this pharmacy in our shop complex at the airport.

 

“Bahrain Duty Free is committed to providing the best for the passengers who are constantly growing in number, and we are working hard for further improve our services and retail business market”. Added Mr. O’Connor.

 

On the other hand, Dr. Fadhel Al Arrayedh , CEO of Ramza Investment Company – Nasser Pharmacy stated,” We are very happy to participate in the airport expansion project and to collaborate with the Bahrain Duty Free Shop Complex  in the opening of our ninth branch at the airport. We recognize the vast growth opportunity that the airport expansion program prevails, and we look forward to providing the best health services and products, by making available a wide range of medicines, medical products, children requirement, cosmetics and other personal care products.”

DEDICATED SHOPS FOR 3 PRESTIGIOUS BRANDS AT BAHRAIN DUTY FREE

Bahrain Duty Free has recently opened three new fashion shops at its Duty Free Shopping Complex in the new extended area of the Bahrain international Airport. Each brand GIVENCHY, SALVATORE FERRAGAMO, and HUGO BOSS now has its own dedicated shop space, where it can give a true reflection of the quality of the brand.


During the opening ceremony, Mr. Steve O’Connor General Manager of the Bahrain Duty Free Shop Complex stated, "I am delighted to announce the opening of these 3 prestigious brands units.
 

"Our success will be in our ability to constantly exceed our client expectations at all times, and this is part of the process. Bahrain Duty Free now stretches over 3,000 square meters with exceptional shopping experience and offering a wide range of options, comprehensive and prestigious brands and products, all within a fantastic shopping atmosphere,” Added Mr. O’Connor

This opening is a part of an ambitious expansion plan of Bahrain Duty Free, in line with the expansion of Bahrain International Airport.

Bahrain Duty Free Celebrates its 17th Anniversary

On Tuesday 29th October 2008 Bahrain Duty Free celebrated its 17th anniversary since its establishment in 1991. Held at the company’s headquarters in Juffair the celebration aimed to enhance the sprit of cooperation and teamwork which the company encourages amongst its staff through various company events and activities.

 On this occasion Steve O’Connor, General Manager, stated “We celebrate another successfully year full of achievements made possible through commitment, hard work and many contributions made by our various departments. We are very proud of our accomplishment through out these years and acknowledge the contributions and support of every employee without whom this success would not have been possible.”

Bahrain Duty Free contributes over $30M in the local economy indirectly through salaries and benefits via employing over 450 staff and indirectly through its local purchase of its many products and services, Support Bahrain Duty Free = Support Bahrain “added Steve O’Connor.

Mr. Adel Redha , Head of HR & Marketing commented “ We strive to enhance our services and products on a continuous basis in order to serve the needs of our customers as well expand our business by introducing new brands and names, through our 400 square meter extension at the airport . This extension was promoted by the continuous growth in passenger traffic and our commitments to serve them.

Mr. Adel also added, “Our extreme commitment towards customer satisfaction is one of the key aspects which have aided in evolving and this in turn provided great in incentives to the many accomplishments of Bahrain Duty Free through the years. The company has succeeded in wining numerous awards such as the golden Frontier Award of the best duty free marketing campaign in 2007; in 2005 the company was named “ Best Duty Free in the world” as well as receiving recognition for the Best Duty Free Marketing Camping. Additionally the company received the ISO 9001:2000 accreditation in 2007 to 2010 inclusive.

Bahrain Duty Free Participated in “Career Expo”

Bahrain Duty Free participated in the Bahrain Career Expo held from October 21st to 23rd under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Labour Majeed Bin Mohsen Al Alawi.  Arround 150 companies from various industry sectors participated in the exhibition with the aim of publicizing their vacancies and recruitment needs to the talented Bahrain job seekers and to encourage them to apply for these vacancies.

In line with the company’s overall policy in recruiting Bahrainis throughout the company, the Management does not spare any effort to enhance the company’s reputation in the market as one the prominent companies in the Kingdom that consider Bahrainisation to be one of its most important priorities.  By participation in this event the company stresses its belief and commitment to promote Bahrainisation, concentrating on the young graduates who enjoy high levels of ambition and determination to obtain higher degrees in education and training.  Further, the company continues to launch from time to time initiatives that towards the development of the citizens’ competencies.

“We are happy to participate in this important national event that highlights the importance of developing the national work force,” said Mr. Adel Redha, Head of Human Resources and Marketing.  “Our primary goal is to improve the rate of Bahrainisation in the Bahrain Duty Free Shop Complex, by attracting the young Bahraini graduates with talents and appropriate education.  At the present time, there are certain vacancies in the Bahrain Duty Free Shop Complex, and we intend to shortly embark on a search for suitable Bahrain to fill in these jobs.”

BAHRAIN DUTY FREE BRANDED CALLING CARDS

Bahrain duty free has introduced a branded range of international calling cards for visitors and locals in Bahrain. Unlike other pre-paid calling cards, Bahrain Duty Free Cards are capable of making National and international calls. Customers can use the cards in Bahrain with any of the listed countries on the back of the card whilst only being charged for local calls rates. These services are part of our ongoing effort to provide a more efficient service to travellers in Bahrain International Airport.

In a statement at the launch of the Bahrain Duty Free calling cards, Mr. Steve O’Connor General Manager, said “Bahrain Duty Free calling cards will provide visitors travelling through Bahrain the convenience of being able to stay in touch with the friends and loved ones locally and internationally at a competitive cost in comparison with other pre-paid calling cards in the market”. The cards are offered in 1BD, 2BD, 5BD & 10BD vouchers and are available through the Bahrain Duty Free outlets at Bahrain International Airport. The cards are easy to use with instructions in Arabic & English.
